Architectural photography is more than simply choosing a subject and pressing the shutter-release button; it’s more than just documenting a project. An architectural photograph shows the form and appeal of a building far better than any other medium. With the advent of the digital photographic workflow, architects, real estate firms, and interior designers are discovering exciting new opportunities to present and market their work. But what are the ingredients for a successful architectural photograph? What equipment do you need? How can you improve your images in the digital darkroom? Why does a building look different in reality than it does in a photograph? In this book you will find the answers to these questions and much more. Author Adrian Schulz―an architect and photographer by training―uses real-world projects to teach you how to:

  • Capture outstanding images of buildings, inside and out
  • Choose the right equipment and use it effectively
  • Compose architectural shots

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Pictures of Buildings By Conrad J. Obregon Most photographers probably take photographs of buildings at one time or another but they do not think of themselves as architectural photographers. Yet most photographers would benefit from a little more knowledge of photographing structures. There are a few photographers who spend more time with structures than the average and this book is aimed at them. After an introduction, which includes a brief history of architectural photography, Schulz examines the equipment to use, including cameras, lenses and accessories; shooting techniques with considerations like perspective, converging verticals and lens focal length; and image processing. The book is profusely illustrated with photographs, which can be quite useful if the reader can learn from the images of others, because Schulz never really tells us what makes a good architectural photograph. There are also several pages of comments by another architectural photographer, Marcus Brecht, although much of it repeats what Schulz tells us.Schulz points out that there may be inherent conflicts between architects and photographers because the architect wants to capture what his art has done, while the photographer may want to make the image into his own art without consideration of the inherent art of the subject. The author specifies that it is important for the photographer to remember which goal is the purpose of his photograph. In discussing things like the importance of converging verticals and perspective, the author offers useful suggestions for dealing with problems the photographer may encounter. It is clear he believes that the best lens one can use for architectural photography is a tilt-shift lens, but the reader won't learn the details of using such a lens in this book. Although he mentions the Schelmflug principal, he doesn't explain it, perhaps because he believes controlling the plane is focus is not so useful in architectural photography. There is a brief section on indoor architectural photography, but there was little discussion of lighting such images.I was unhappy with the section on post processing. I did not expect a complete guide to using Photoshop, but rather an explanation of those unusual Photoshop tools that have particular applicability. While he mentioned such tools, his explanations were cursory. Given that he used a couple of specific images to follow in Photoshop, it would have been useful to provide downloadable images, and tutorials that are more extensive. I was also surprised that in his discussion of HDR there was no mention of the tools included in Lightroom. I know this facility only appeared in version 6, which was only recently released, but other authors managed to get advance versions of the software and include it in their books.Although I was less than satisfied with this book, I have to recommend it because there are so few other good books available about architectural photography.

My favorite part of the book is the discussion of perspective By Tyson Smith I began reading Architectural Photography because I wanted to improve my city-scapes and interior shots. I did not realize that it would be full of so much general information that applies to many aspects of photography. There is something in this book for all of us.Schulz begins with a general discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of different types of cameras, from compact to large format. This is followed by a description of various lenses including tilt-shift and several of the accessories that are routinely used. Then he moves on to explaining the shoot. My favorite part of the book is the discussion of perspective. He explains clearly that it depends on the position the camera is placed rather than the focal length of the lens used as is commonly mis-stated in photography articles. This then leads to how the placement of the camera effects vertical and horizontal lines in the image. He also offers advice on exposure and composition of architectural images. The chapters on image processing are rather basic. They cover some raw adjustments but not in a comprehensive manner. He touches on some of the perspective controls and plug-ins but not to the depth that I would feel comfortable copying them. Schulz also includes some information about processing panoramas in Photoshop and HDR in Photomatix. He does not include information about doing these in Lightroom, but that capability may have been released after his deadline. As I mentioned, I believe there is something in this book for all of us as we do our general photography. My disappointment with the book is that I don’t think it would be as helpful for someone that wanted to be a serious architectural photography. There could have been more than his three paragraphs on what makes a good architectural image. I don’t believe in rules, but that would give us a foundation to start from. He also doesn’t say much about how natural light works with time of day to show depth in the exteriors of the buildings or how to balance lighting to get the effect you want on interiors.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A must read for any Architect! By Jeff Ornstein I am a commercial architect that has been photographing my buildings and structures for the past forty eight years. I have been into photography for over sixty years. Even though, photographically, I have always been a landscape and wildlife photographer I still manage to work on architectural photography at least once a month. This is the third edition of Adrian's book and I have enjoyed them all. He has a 'happy' style of writing and of explaining concepts. The problem areas he speaks of in relation to buildings are things I have experienced for myself and his solutions to the obstacles are well thought out and are exciting to try in the field,Some of his newer discussions about HDR and DRI photography are right on the money as it relates to architecture, One would think it is easy to photograph a building.....it doesn't move, change it's posture and never whines. But, because of its stationary status the lighting and composition can become a real challenge. This book goes a long way to help you overcome these photographic elements.I would recommend this reading to any photographer and it should be a must read for any architect, engineer or contractor.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Adorable designs of Maneki Neko, the Lucky Cat By iiiireader This is an adorable coloring book, which while it is aimed for children, I find a lot of fun to color, too. The book includes 30 designs of Maneki Neko, who is the lucky cat of Asian folk stories. The designs are a wide range of the cat in patterns and in vignettes with fans, cherry blossoms, koi, among other settings. This book is not like Creative Haven books as it is designed for younger children. The designs are printed on both sides of the page and the paper quality is good but not the same as the more expensive line. I suggest coloring with colored pencils or crayons if you are trying to use the designs on both sides. If not, just put something behind your work to keep inks from leaking through and destroying the following pages as all markers and gel pens easily leak through these pages.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Unlucky Cat By Amazon Customer The cover looks cute and I never thought I'd ever dislike anything with lucky cat on it. This coloring book is almost bad. It's borderline. I was real disappointed. It only has 15 pages(30 total coloring pages). Look at the photos I have provided the cover is the only cover sheet worth it...buyer beware!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Really cute By B. R. Snyder This is a really fun book. Great for light-hearted coloring when you just don't feel like concentrating too much. Pages are double-sided, which is why I can't give it 5 stars. Paper is good, but I have used only pencils and crayons, no markers. Worth the low price if you are in the mood for cute.

Excerpt from Life and Correspondence of Henry Knox: Major-General in the American Revolutionary ArmyThe materials for this Memoir, prepared a short time since for the "Memorials of the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati," have been mainly derived from the original letters and papers of General Knox. These papers, which fill fifty-six large portfolios, include, besides Knox's own letters and military papers, many of the letters of Washington, Greene, and other prominent actors in the Revolution and a variety of documents illustrating the history and settlement of that part of Maine included in the Muscongus or Waldo patent. About the year 1840 they were placed by the family in the hands of Hon. Charles S. Daveis of Portland, who began, but did not finish, a memoir of Knox; and in 1853 they were transferred, with the same object, to Mr. Joseph Willard of Boston, a gentleman eminently qualified for the task, but who unfortunately died before its completion. During their transit by water from Portland to Boston, the vessel in which they were embarked was wrecked, and they were slightly injured, having been for some hours submerged.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. I only wish it were updated/expanded for all of the material that's been accumulated since 1873! I think the Henry Knox Montpelier site has over 40 Microfilm rolls, so it would probably increase the size of the book considerably. But until that happens, this is the best you're going to get.

Review Winner of the 2013 Ignatz Award for Outstanding SeriesWinner of the 2013 Ignatz Award for Outstanding Artist“So many of DeForge’s stories are about transformation…that it’s hard to look at the world around you after reading one of his stories the same way as you did before.” — Scott Cederlund, Panel Patter“DeForge’s work is so different from anything else out there that it looks like it was made on another planet. Yet, it’s the unexpected humanity—his keen observations and sense of humor—that is embedded in all the weirdness that makes his comics a must-read.” — Rich Barrett, mental_floss“Like the best fairy tales, DeForge uses transformation and strange situations to enter a side door towards human cruelties and tendernesses, betrayals and quiet loyalties, and the confused paths through which we navigate our desires.” — Annie Mok, The Comics Journal“[T]he heart of DeForge’s body of work is in the struggle of his characters/creatures to evolve—physically, mentally, mystically, metaphorically—into something better positioned to survive the consumptive and uncaring character of nature.” — Joe McCulloch, The Comics Journal“Michael DeForge makes the kind of comics that make me a little uncomfortable. Hallucinatory, abstract, and delicately grotesque, he views the peculiarities of human behaviour with an almost anthropological eye, and adapts them into surreal excursions into an extraordinary exploration of the mundane.” — John Parker, ComicsAlliance“This issue continues DeForge’s exploration of a world where fantasies can be hauntingly painful and bizarre.” — Heidi MacDonald, The Comics Beat“With DeForge, reality becomes a horror show not of blood and gore but of uncertainty...His stories of changing identity combined his existence-warping artwork make us question our own concept of self.” — Scott Cederlund, Panel Patter“DeForge’s comic universe reflects the dark corners of our real one, but — sensitive and hopeful storyteller that he is — he hasn’t forgotten about the exuberance, wonder and happiness there either.” — Chris Hampton, The Toronto Star“Toronto's comics arts scene is thriving, and young Michael DeForge, with his penchant for body horror and cute-meets-perverse aesthetic, is at its hub.” — Carla Gillis, Glenn Sumi, NOW Magazine“DeForge’s world is not for the squeamish. But it is one whose grotesqueries increasingly mirror, rather than distort, the mundane world with which we think we are familiar.” — Sean Rogers, The Globe and Mail“One of the most exciting and unpredictable cartoonists working in comics, Michael DeForge has a unique perspective that juggles humor, tragedy, whimsy and horror to create unforgettable stories.” — Oliver Sava, Los Angeles Times"Everything and everyone in his [DeForge's] drawings is dripping, bubbling and developing unsightly growths. He warps and dents the assured, geometrical forms of vintage newspaper strips and new wave-era graphics into oddly adorable horrors; his stories are prone to whiplash formal shifts.” — Douglas Wolk, The New York Times“Prolific young Canadian-born avant-garde artist DeForge has become one of his generation’s most admired cartoonists, and this is his first sizable collection…While often willfully unsettling, DeForge’s work resonates on many levels.” — Publishers Weekly (starred review)

Lose is a series that started good and just keeps getting better By Sam the Sham A full-color beaut with two shorts* and a long centerpiece called "Movie Star". DeForge is reaching new levels of design and storytelling. It's wild to see how far he has come since his work just five years ago. Lose is a series that started good and just keeps getting better. "Movie Star" has got the strange surreal vibe DeForge is great at pulling off but has a more poignant and serious tone than previous work.*The two shorts (Adults and Boy) were previously available digitally to subscribers of DeForge's Patreon.com page

Maybe he's putting out too much stuff, but the drawings weren't as detailed and inventive as some of his earlier stuff, and the narratives lacked the stunning weirdness of the earlier issues of lose. Nothing to compete with the Canadian Royal Family or Spotting Deer in this one, but still reasonably decent work.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. and the longer story about a pair of long lost brothers who are reunited through a father and daughters viewing of cheesy action By Derek Uibelhoer The line and color work in this issue of Lose are incredible, some of the stories...not so much. I could stare at these pages for hours either way, and the longer story about a pair of long lost brothers who are reunited through a father and daughters viewing of cheesy action films really s quite fun to read. Deforge really shows his mastery over the comic form here; the pacing is impeccable, he hits each beat, and his simple figures carry so much expression. His limited pallete, as always, is beautiful, and adds an atmosphere that services the tone of the strip, without just turning it into eye candy. Great read, glad to have it on my shelf.

From the beach to the moon--explore the incredible hidden world of sand, seen through a microscope.

To the naked eye, the tiny particles that make up sand are less than inspiring. Under the microscope, however, it's a completely different story. Looking at sand under extreme magnification, we quickly find ourselves immersed in a new world of brilliant colors, organic shapes, and the stunning patterns of nature.

Every grain of sand is a snapshot in time: Each grain originated somewhere and is headed somewhere else. Biogenic sands often contain fragments of the hard tissues from marine organisms such as shells, corals, sponges, sea urchins, forams, and bryozoans. When these organisms die, the hard tissues that are left behind erode into some of the most spectacular grains of sand imaginable. In this book, deep-focus microscope photography, x-ray images, and high-resolution scanning electron microscopy reveal their secrets.

The Secrets of Sand is a virtual tour of sands from across North America. It shows their origins, the environmental forces that have acted upon them, and their journey from bedrock or invertebrate shell to the fine particles that, in countless billions, form our familiar beaches and dunes. It then moves on to an exploration of lunar sand, which has been formed under such alien conditions that it has no terrestrial counterpart. The Secrets of Sand is an amazing voyage of discovery in the ancient past--and the dynamic present--of the earth and our nearest neighbor.

First, the photos: they're beautiful and mesmerizing! I've always been fascinated by super-up-close photos (especially those freaky ones of bug mites and stuff that lives ON your skin or IN your hair), but never thought of, or realized, how intricate and beautiful grains of sand can be.Beyond the photos, I learned a lot about sand itself. How sand is made is interesting - and it's not just sand that makes up sand, so to speak! I especially liked all the places the book covers - sand from beaches, mountains, and more.Kids will love the photos and be really intrigued; adults will love the photos, too, and the science and information about sand.

An amazing book that will change the way you think about the beach By Jeff Serena It's the rare book that exposes the fascinating reality behind a seemingly prosaic subject. The Secrets of Sand does that for sand, a ubiquitous substance that under the microscope turns out to be composed of a startling array of tiny mineral grains, seashells, crystals--even bones and plastic--often polished to a gem-like luster by the action of waves and wind. The authors look at sand from beaches and dunes from around the world, explaining how the sand reveals the geologic and environmental history of each place. There's even a chapter on lunar sand collected by the Apollo missions, showing how the extraterrestrial environment creates sand of a character that cannot be replicated on earth. This is a terrific book for anyone interested in geology and the environment--or just curious about that stuff between your toes on the beach. The color photography is astonishing.

The text is well-written, as far as it goes, and the photographs are excellent, some superb. But the whole book has a sort of adult gee-whiz-this-is-so-cool tone. The only secrets are that at magnification and with Gary Greenberg's sophisticated techniques, the sand is revealed to be the opposite of the uniform feeling of sugar granules underfoot. There is every conceivable shape and color. The sand is diverse--from volcanic and barrier islands, river sandbars, desert dunes (and some dunes in the US, such as the Lake Michigan dunes), freshwater lake shores. The creation process of various sands is briefly described--abrasion by wave action, river currents, rain, wind, glacial action and more.I was hoping to read more about the geological processes at work in places like beaches and sand dunes. This book disappoints in that regard. It's really a picture book with fairly good commentary. It's a slender book and can be read quickly. The various sand pictures will remind some readers of modern painters, particularly Jackson Pollock.

In 1890, Claude Monet bought a house at Giverny in Normandy. Soon he had laid out the first of the three studios in which he could paint. Now the garden that was to be a constant source of inspiration for those paintings claimed all his attention. In 1893, work started on the excavation of the famous pond that he would plant with water lilies, and over which he would build a Japanese bridge festooned with wisteria.Richly illustrated with photographs taken as the seasons unfold, this guide takes us on a tour of the house and gardens, inviting us to explore the settings in which Monet and his family spent their daily lives, from the iconic yellow dining room to the famous salon-studio. Adrien Goetz leads us through the gardens laid out by the father of Impressionism, where we can admire the dazzling planting schemes and successive flowerings that inspired the paintings that now hang in the world's greatest galleries and museums: drifts and avenues of iris, tulips and narcissi, wallflowers, peonies and forget-me-nots, roses and cascades of clematis and wisteria, not forgetting the legendary water lilies.

Shades of Blue: Writers on Depression, Suicide, and Feeling BlueFrom Seal Press

Review “Thirty-five brilliant, vivid, edgy writers in Amy Ferris’s compelling new book, Shades of Blue, unflinchingly shout out the real true down-dirty story of the blues. These compelling tales of depression aren’t depressing—they are emblazoned with hope—because every person in this book is a survivor. A survivor who doesn’t flinch from explaining exactly how they climbed out of their own personal pit of despair. How they chose life. If you’ve ever been depressed, read this book. If you’ve ever lost someone to depression, read this book. I have no doubt whatsoever that Shades of Blue will save lives—maybe even yours.”—Laura Davis, bestselling author of I Thought We’d Never Speak Again, co-author of The Courage To Heal, and founder of The Writer’s Journey"I expected this collection to pull me into a maelstrom of darkness. Instead, story after story, I found myself surfacing into the light of appreciation and hope.”—Victoria Zackheim, author, playwright, and editor of He Said What?, For Keeps, and The Other Woman"What a strong and searing light the writers in this amazing anthology shine on the thing we are so loathe to name. Depression and suicide grow in secrecy and darkness. What a feat to bathe them in understanding and humor."—Martha Frankel, author of Hats & Eyeglasses and director of The Woodstock Writers Festival“This is a brave book. No, this is a kick-ass, ‘get outta my way, despair/misery/isolation,’ ‘I'm gonna mess you up, depression’ tome. This book is a lifesaver. This book needs to go into the survivor/survival toolkit for every patient, friend, sister, husband, father, daughter, son, partner, neighbor, lover, kindergarten teacher, oncologist, nursing student, shopkeeper, artist, social worker, babysitter, the guy who fixes your car, his wife, the waitress at your favorite restaurant, your bartender, counselor. I challenge any of them, or you, or me, to feel alone with Amy Ferris's book in our pockets. This book belongs to all of us who have ever felt the pang of despair or the full blown crush of depression, or worried about someone precious who may be struggling this very very minute.”—Nina Gaby, editor of Dumped: Stories of Women Unfriending Women, and psychiatric nurse practitioner"It takes great courage to get up in the morning when depression has closed in. It also takes courage to tell the truth about what it feels like to have lost hope. These brave essayists decribe the darkness and their efforts, not always successful, to stare it down. By sharing their stories, they are making it a little easier for others to get up in the morning."—Suzanne Braun Levine, author of Inventing the Rest of Our Lives"Shades of Blue is a courageous venture into the darkness, out of which we inevitably emerge with a newfound light. There will be a point while reading this book when the words come alive with the preciousness of life. It was like being invited into someone's darkness and witnessing it in all of its devastating beauty—all its horror. It's a first-hand look into a beating heart. That sound of a heartbeat kept recurring as I read—probably my own. I felt pride and exhilaration for being alive. It was the very definition of inspiring. A tremendous gift."—Ana Surviladze, author of The Voice of a Falling Tree“You’re not alone is the grief-soaked message on every page . . . The contributors’ writing is often brilliant, and proves, at least, that depression—if confessed, illuminated, investigated, and shared—can defeat denial, and begin to help us heal.”—Mimi Kennedy, actress and author of Taken to the Stage“A ground-breaking, raw, honest new book that dives headfirst into feeling blue, depression, and suicide. Yes, even suicide. Shades of Blue must quickly become required reading in high school, in college, at church, around the family dinner table, and wherever people that care about other people gather. Shades of Blue can help us heal that which needs healing.—Tom Zuba, author of Permission to Mourn: A New Way To Do Grief

About the Author Amy Ferris is an author, editor, screenwriter, and playwright. Isolation gets a few shades lighter with this brave and beautiful book By Nina Gaby As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I sit with patients and their depressions, their anxieties, their hopelessness every day. My toolkit has now expanded with the publication of Ferris's "Shades of Blue".... I can tell people about this book, I can encourage them to become a part of a larger narrative, possibly begin to more deeply explore- or possibly even write - their own stories. They can find another way to stay present in this world by reading the inspirational, stigma-busting, brave, life-affirming (no, life-saving) stories of these writers that Ferris has assembled. The crushing isolation of depression gets a few shades lighter each time someone realizes..."I'm not alone. I'm connected to a bigger picture." Thank you for this beautiful and necessary book.

I didn't count on the immediate recognition of empathy and identification with the editor Amy Ferris' introduction: 'The Balls-out Truth About Depression'. I didn't expect to be so sucked into such stories of struggle, despair, loss, renewal, irony, acceptance, hope and even amusement in one tragically absurd story of rock bottom in Samantha White's: 'The Dialectics of Suicide.' Or absolutely haunted by Jimmy Camp's: 'A Slip Of The Noose' and Jenna Stone's: 'Upon Being Told To Be True To Myself.' The order of the stories is quite perfect, ending with the attainable and sustainable hope written about in Pam L. Houston's: 'A Kind Of Quiet Most People Have Forgotten.'I read somewhere that thus book was conceived in the wake of Robin Williams' suicide, even in response to it. It's an important book that sheds much-needed light on the lingering stigma of depression, suicide, mental illness and feeling blue.

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. This Book May Very Well Save Your Life, or That of a Loved One... By Tom McMasters-Stone Millions of people suffer from depression, many of them undiagnosed. The beauty and scope of this book, and the value of understanding more completely what people go through, and that we don't walk through this disease alone, is invaluable. I have observed the struggles and successes of many such people and this fabulous author brings the reality of it right into your den, your living room, or your bedroom. Fabulous work!Highly recommended!!!

PDF Ebook Online The Whiteness of the Whale, by Paul Graham

The Whiteness of the Whale brings together Paul Graham's three bodies of American photographs: American Night, a shimmer of possibility and The Present, made from 1998 to 2011. These 3 remarkable photographic series reflect upon the social fabric of contemporary America, whilst trying to find something closer to the experience of being and seeing in the world today. American Night (2003) examines the social fracture of America - the great divide between have and have-not rendered through the dichotomy of light and darkness, presence and absence. The images oscillate between high-key near invisible photographs in bright light, and the antithesis - deeply saturated colour images of freshly minted homes glowing under California's blue skies. a shimmer of possibility (2007), is an American epic of the small and incidental. Originally published as twelve photographic visions of everyday life, the stuttering sequences form a kind of 'filmic haiku', revealing the flow of life found in quotidian America, where we share moments with people waiting for a bus, cutting the grass, or smoking a cigarette. a shimmer of possibility was winner of the 2011 Paris Photo Book Prize for the most significant Photobook of the past 15 years. The Present (2011) taken in the streets of New York, and unfolds two images of the same scene separated only by the briefest fraction of time. Here the present is revealed to be a fleeting and provisional alignment, glimpsed as part of an ever flowing continuum of life: before/after, coming/going, either/or. The luxurious catalogue is printed in wide gamut inks on natural white paper, and coincides with the first solo exhibition at Pier 24, San Francisco. It includes newly commissioned texts by David Chandler and Stanley Wolukau-Wanambwa.

By nerose Great book by Paul Graham and Mack books, in a lovely red cardboard protective box, published to coincide with a one person exhibition at Pier 24, S.F. This brings together his 3 bodies of work on the United States over the past 15 years. I can't think of anyone who has done more to reinvigorate photographic language than Mr Graham during this time. 'A Shimmer of Possibility' is his masterpiece, and is right up there with the very best of photographic works. Sadly, that (12 volume) book sold out a long time ago, but this is a chance to own this work, plus his New York street photographs 'The Present' along with the early work about the invisible poor of America, 'American Night', for those who missed it. Mr Graham 's work appeals to me, as it's made out in the world, with real people and life as it arrives. I think most people fall in love with photography want to work this way, but it's surprisingly hard, hence the fad for employing actors, 'staging' situations, and manipulating the final results in Photoshop. Tiresome. This is a lot to claim, but collectively, these 3 bodies of photographs are probably the first truly great body of photographic work of the 21st century.

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. Wonderful Colorful and easy read. By JRVanB This is a wonderful book on painting the southwest by Irby Brown. He has led an interesting life. Some of his earlier work is very realistic which is included. But the fabulous works of impressionism are breath taking in their color. I only wish I had that painting on the cover hanging on my wall. I have painted for many years, but his use of color will probably change the way I paint. The price of this book through Amazon is amazing considering what I have paid for other books of this kind. I don't believe you will ever regret investing in this book. I know I won't.

Worthy of a place on your bookshelf By KB This is primarily a selection of Irby Brown's masterfully painted landscapes, with a few portraits, watercolors and field studies included. They are in full color, accompanied with narratives by Irby, fellow artists and patrons. This is not a "how-to" book, but one about a gifted artist and his work. A brief description of Irby's "soup method" at the end gives us an insight into what makes his harmonious paintings rich with color, full of life and so compelling.

While this zine (it's not really a zine, it's more like a book) covers a lot of different genre of films, it still sticks mainly with its bread-and-butter: the horror genre. Mixed with some great original artwork and some rare ad mats, the writing is still the most important thing to me and Issue #4 doesn't disappoint. I love that we now have "print on demand" and while some zines look like they were designed by a blind man, EVILSPEAK gives the inside of their zine a nice professional sheen. I love this zine and if you would just give it a chance, you will, too. It's best that I don't reveal what's inside the pages. Sometimes the best surprise is opening up the cover. There are only four or five "print on demand" zines that I buy. This one is at the top of my list. Don't deny yourself a horror education. Buy this zine. Thank me later.

Articles on Satan's Children, The Witchmaker, Mattei's women in prison films, Loreley's Grasp, a HUGE retrospective of Ossorio's Blind Dead flicks, DUDE Werewolf's Shadow, The Deadly Spawn, Don't Go in the House, 200+ pages of greatness. No fat. No ScyFy channel movie review! Yeah, this is my kind of fanzine. (book)

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great magazine!!! By Gary Love this magazine. Have every issue. It's right up there with Weng's chop! Reminds me of all the crazy stuff I watched in the eighties. Plus they seem to have the same experiences I had so it's relatable. Can't wait for the next issue!
